I'm a 64 year old Poet, Publisher, and Associate Professor of English at Brown College in Minnesota. I live with my poet wife Judy Brekke, and our extended family, son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter. We also have a dog, a couple of birds, two rabbits, cancer, and numerous fish. I spent the first 37 years of my life on the Pacific West Coast, mostly in the San Francisco Bay Area--where I got my degrees, B.A. English, M.A Creative Writing. But I did spend my high school years in Creswell, Oregon, working as a cowboy on my father's cattle ranch. I've studied with Robert Creeley, Charles Simic, Thom Gunn, and George Cuomo. I was and still am one of the original small press publishers which included the likes of Gene Fowler, Paul Foreman, Bukowski, and of course the City Lights crowd; Ferlinghetti et al. Judy and I currently edit an online magazine
